A. Why do we need to Fear God?

1. Because of who He is (Psalm 96:4-6)

2. Because of what He can do (Matthew 10:28, Revelation 14:6-7)

3. Because it is our basic duty of life (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14)

B. What is Fear of God?

1. Not being sacred and hiding from Him

2. Giving Him our highest reverence, honor and veneration (Psalm 33:8)

3. Living a godly life that exalts His Name

C. What are the benefits of Fearing God?

1. It leads us to spiritual intimacy (Psalm 25:14)

2. It brings forth wisdom and understanding (Proverbs 9:10, 14:27)

3. It keeps us from sinning (Exodus 20:20, Genesis 39:7-9)

4. It dispels all other fears (Psalm 112:1,7-8)

D. How can we develop a healthy Fear of God?

1. Ask God for the virtue of Fearing Him (Jeremiah 32:40, Psalm 86:11)

2. Honour God in our daily life

3. Consecrate Ourselves for the Season of Prayer and Fasting
