Day 10
Testimonies That Point to Jesus
Read John 5:31-47
Summary
The Jews were offended by Jesus because He healed the paralysed man on the Sabbath.
Jesus defended His authority by pointing to the various testimonies that confirmed His true identity.
John the Baptist’s witness,
His miraculous works,
the Father’s testimony, and
the Scriptures.
However, the Pharisees failed to see the truth in Him, despite their diligent study of the Scriptures.
Jesus challenged them to believe in Him, the source of eternal life.
Reflect
1. Jesus emphasised the importance of multiple testimonies that validated His identity. How do these witnesses—John the Baptist, Jesus’ works, the Father’s testimony, and the Scriptures—help strengthen your understanding of who Jesus really is?
2. Reflect on your own life. Have there been occasions when you are so busy studying the Scriptures or serving in ministry, that you miss out on communing with Jesus? How can you intentionally make Him the centre of your life and ministry today?

This video teaches an important truth: eternal life is found not in religious practice or in doctrines, but in the person of Jesus.
Reflect
3. Consider how your relationship with Jesus impacts your daily life and ministry. How can you live out His greatest commandments more fully, loving God and others in tangible ways?
Closing Prayer
Ask God to help you see Jesus clearly in His Word and draw closer to Him daily. Pray for a heart that not only seeks understanding, but also longs for a transformative relationship with Christ.
